Nikolaos Avramidis is the Vice Mayor for Cleaning and Recycling, responsible for the Directorate of Cleaning-Recycling and the Directorate of Mechanical Engineering as well as the subordinate departments and offices, as described in the internal regulation of the City of Athens.
His competences include, in particular, the cleaning of public spaces, the collection and transport of waste and recyclable materials, the operation of the cleaning facilities and infrastructure of the City of Athens and the maintenance and repair of cleaning vehicles.

Nikolaos Avramidis was born in Athens in 1968 and he is a businessman in the field of textiles (family business founded in 1967 in Athens). He graduated from the 1st High School of Plaka and the Department of Physical Education and Sports Science (TEFAA) of Athens, while distinguished in Fencing. Since 2002, he has been dealing with the local government, holding key positions in the City of Athens. He was President of the 1st Municipal District from 2002 to 2006, responsible for the preparation of the city center for the Olympic Games of 2004, while he has been responsible for School Care and President of the Municipal Insurance Company of the City of Athens. From 2007 to 2010 he served as a Vice Mayor for the City Planning and since 2014 he is a Municipal Councilor in the City of Athens, Vice President of the Committee for Life Quality and a Member of the Economic Committee.
