GENERAL DIRECTORATE OF ADMINISTRATION

Director-General: Dimitra Nousi

The Director-General is responsible for the unhindered operation of the Municipality’s Departments that the General Directorate consists of, and in particular for the organisation, coordination, monitoring and evaluation of their operation. More specifically, the Director-General:

  • Directs the planning of the activities and the respective action plans of the departments, in collaboration with the Secretary-General and the corresponding heads of the departments, so that they are in line with the periodic objectives of the Municipality.
  • Sets the goals, determines the indicators and monitors the action plans of each Directorate under its responsibility.
  • Prioritises, checks and approves the issues – actions of each Directorate.
  • Ensures the proper organisation of the resources of the departments (human resources, technical means, infrastructure, internal operating procedures, etc.), so that they are able to respond to the effective and efficient implementation of their activities and their respective action plans.
  • Coordinates the operation of the Administration and Social Departments, in collaboration with the respective heads of departments.
  • Monitors, reviews and evaluates the smooth operation of the departments, always in relation to their activities and the achievement of their periodic action plans.
  • Assesses the adequacy and efficiency of the resources of each Administration and Social Department (human resources, technical means, etc.) and formulates proposals in order to supplement them or improve their performance.
  • May convene Coordination Boards periodically or whenever required, where all or part of (depending on the relevance of the subject matter) the Municipality’s departments participate through their representatives.
  • Signs documents in accordance with the system for document signing jurisdiction applied by the Municipality and which are related to issues that fall within the responsibilities of the General Directorate.
  • Represents the General Directorate where required.
  • Collaborates with the other Director-Generals of the Municipality and/or other bodies in order to ensure the most effective exercise of the powers of the General Directorate.

Office of Administrative Support to the General Directorate

  • Provides secretarial support to the Head of the General Directorate.
  • Is in charge of monitoring and processing the correspondence of the Head of the General Directorate, while updating the relevant register and record.
  • Plans, organises and arranges the meetings of the Head of the General Directorate.
  • Through the Office’s representatives, it ensures response to the e-Governance systems (Electronic Distribution of Documents – CRM).

  • Directorate of Support to Collective Bodies, Municipal Parties and Elected Officials
  • Directorate of Municipal Police
  • Directorate of Social Solidarity
